[Exim] RFC number for sender verify

Hi,

which RFC is involved in the function of sender verify?
In detail I mean in what RFC is it stated that the remote SMTP
server should accept a MAIL FROM:<> ?
So to say a bounce message??
Couldn't find this RFC number in the spec in or around
chapter 37.10...
