Hi,
it seems that exim 4.12 has not enough time to complete reverse DNS-lookups
and therefore rejects messages with the following error:
========================================
2003-02-27 09:02:44 H=buster.nbg-hannover.de [62.181.135.129]
F=<Mario.Gaertner@???> rejected RCPT
<apanter@???>: reverse host lookup failed
========================================
When I manually do an nslookup on that IP, the system gives me the
following informations:
========================================
mail:/etc/exim # nslookup 62.181.135.129
Server: 213.69.199.238
Address: 213.69.199.238#53
Non-authoritative answer:
129.135.181.62.in-addr.arpa name = buster.nbg-hannover.de.
Authoritative answers can be found from:
135.181.62.in-addr.arpa nameserver = dns1.nbg-hannover.de.
135.181.62.in-addr.arpa nameserver = dns2.nbg-hannover.de.
dns1.nbg-hannover.de internet address = 62.181.128.1
dns2.nbg-hannover.de internet address = 62.181.128.2
mail:/etc/exim #
========================================
So is it possible to "tune" the time exim can spend on an reverse
DNS-lookup to a longer period than the standard time (how long is this by
the way?)
