I am running exim version 4.10-1 under red hat linux version 8.0 at the
sdrosser site.
I downloaded from the web and compiled on site.
I am trying to restrict external mail to certain users at sdrosser. I get
the following two lines in the rejectlog (at sdrosser)when I email from the
hareweare site to the sdrosser site.
2003-02-25 20:53:09 H=punt1.ex.eclipse.net.uk [212.104.129.56] sender
verify fail for <mercury@???>: You are not allowed to send
outside
2003-02-25 20:53:09 H=punt1.ex.eclipse.net.uk [212.104.129.56]
F=<mercury@???> rejected RCPT <mercury@???>: Sender
verify failed
my configure file at sdrosser contains
require verify = sender
and my first router is:-
check_outgoing:
driver = redirect
domains = ! : ! lsearch;/usr2/system/mailsenders
allow_fail
data = :fail: You are not allowed to send outside
If I comment out either of the above two entries I am able to receive the
mail at sdrosser.
As I understand it the incoming mail is being refused because exim is
trying to verify the sender but this verification is being caught by the
check_outgoing router.
I have tried putting several entries in the mailsenders file like
root@mydomain, mail@mydomain exim@mydomain hostname@mydomain
MAILER-DAEMON@mydomain but nothing appears to work.
It appears that you cant set the debug option as a daemon option.
Any ideas?
Regards Mercury
