The exicyclog version we use on our old machines compresses the xxx.01
files into xxx.02.gz the next time around. (We're using logrotate on the
newer machines.)

Note: exigrep is perfectly happy to use cycles searching in the gzipped
logs...no need to pre-expand, but a nice might be nice.
