Interesting. Is this affected by the cunning "only offer AUTH after a
succesful TLS" setting? (ie the although the MUA issues two EHLOs, it must
take your first answer, no conferring..) This would be an MUA bug which
won't be difficult to fix--I spotted exactly that in kmail a few months
ago, and they immediately fixed it.
