I am no expert in this area; but, a couple of things caught my eye.
Ignore if not relevant, of course...
First, why do the hex values after "/usr/lib/libc.so.4" not agree?
(Like I said, "no expert").
Second, why does "ldd /usr/local/src/exim-4.12/..." return results for
"/usr/local/src/exim-4.11/..." ? (Which version are you actually using,
4.11 or 4.12 ?)
This is only the "typo-detection hard-wiring" in my brain doing it's
thing, without regard to technical details. Just pointing out a couple
of things that look "not quite right" to this novice. Hope this is
helpful. Apologies if not.
