Most of the Osirusoft lists are down because the Osirusoft master zone
is (idiotically enough) on a DSL pipe, which went down because of
windstorm induced power outages (the california Santa Ana winds).

As the damned master zone has a TTL of ~ 1 hour (why?) - most of the
spews.org slaves have started returning SERVFAIL for the spews zone.

IMHO, the best way to go if you are querying multiple DNSBLs, is to run
a local instance of rbldns (http://cr.yp.to/djbdns/rbldns.html) and
cache a local copy of each DNSBL you use (get it with axfrdns, or
download the zone as a text file and run a script to convert it to
rbldns / tinydns format)

We do that - and were largely unaffected (beyond having a slightly stale
copy of the spews zone) by this outage. [Thank God. Given the volume
of mail we move, such delays would have been catastrophic]
