I'm not sure, but maybe SF is doing verification callouts.

Your server hangs for a long time if one tries to connect (could be an
DNS-issue on your side, or maybe you are using osirusoft-blockslist
(which are down ATM), so the connect takes too long, and the sf.net
server disconnects from your server, and defers, because of the timeout.

Try to remove the blacklists and check again, if this doesn't help, and
you still encounter the error in some hours, try to reach postmaster@???.
