I have instead done a test on the sender address you quoted. The
mailserver mail.reedmedia.net was so slow (the banner came up after
90 seconds) that their server might have given up while doing a
server callout. So the delay you saw was probably a delay at
mail.reedmedia.net. This delay might come from an ident call timing
out?
