Hello,
I configured exim to do a callout to verify the sender
--- exim.conf --
# Deny unless the sender address can be verified.
require verify = sender/callout=30s
--- exim.conf --
Now I see some strange behavior:
---- /var/log/exim/rejectlog ---
2002-12-17 16:36:28 H=(anaisl1.anais.at) [195.58.179.15] sender verify
defer for <a.neumeister@???>: Could not complete sender verify
callout
2002-12-17 16:36:28 H=(anaisl1.anais.at) [195.58.179.15] F
=<a.neumeister@???> temporarily rejected RCPT
<christoph.schneider@???>: Could not complete sender verify callout
---- /var/log/exim/rejectlog ---
but when I send a mail to <a.neumeister@???> the log tells me the
following:
---- /var/log/exim/mainlog ---
2002-12-17 16:36:50 18OJm4-0007YH-00 <= Wolfgang.Fuertbauer@??? H
=(horn.intern.ebewe.at) [172.16.5.1] P=esmtp S=1169
id=OFCB263CF0.2117E188-ONC125
2002-12-17 16:37:21 18OJm4-0007YH-00 => a.neumeister@??? R=dnslookup
T=remote_smtp H=anaisl1.anais.at [195.58.179.15]
2002-12-17 16:37:21 18OJm4-0007YH-00 Completed
---- /var/log/exim/mainlog ---
why does callout defer when sending a "normal" mail succeeds?
any help appreciated
Wolfgang
