To allow humans who are testing SMTP connections manually to make a few
typos.

Do spammers send unrecognized commands? I don't see why they would. I
don't think changing this will make any difference to spam. The check
was implemented to alleviate the problems caused by some insecure web
features.

But as you say, it is a trivial patch, and if people want to change this
number, who am I to stop them?
