The other problem with these scripts is that the use of macros
for the value of exim_path will wreak havoc, as in:

EXIM_BINARY=/usr/lib/sendmail
exim_path=EXIM_BINARY

Not sure if there is a good solution to this, though, other than
to document clearly that exim_path must be listed as an absolute
value with no macro substitution.
