when i initiate exim -qff, the mail is delivered.
What could be causing the retry to fail???

When i kill the pid on the primary, the mail is queued on the secondary..
R=dnslookup T=remote_smtp defer (-53): retry time not reached for any host
retry is F, 2h, 15m.
This retry is not working, mail is still queued.

Seems like it's spooled on the secondary mx, and the primary mx is down.
I couldn't see what was the question of the original post.
