Temat: [Exim] using exim with fetchmail on a debian box
I'm failing to setup a simple mail system quering
a pop3 server on a remote nonpermanent internet
connection.
A helpful person on this list gave me some guidance
a few weeks ago, yet now he seems to have unsubscribed.

For the first setup I would just like to operate
on one box, fetchmail, exim and mutt installed.

To get exim running .fetcmailrc containes:
mda /usr/sbin/exim.

The test I ran 2 times was:

rland@MINI:~$ fetchmail -k -vv >> fetch2.test
fetchmail: Command not supported.
#exim: neither action flags nor mail addresses given
fetchmail: MDA exited abnormally or returned nonzero status
#exim: neither action flags nor mail addresses given
fetchmail: MDA exited abnormally or returned nonzero status
#exim: neither action flags nor mail addresses given
fetchmail: socket error while fetching from pop.btx.dtag.de

...ploting a error for each of the three messages awaiting on
the pop server on both of tests.
The file below shows errors relating to unexpected message
lengths. Which options does exim expect to get a smooth
running retrieval?

Later I would like to ask for some help on the options
the mentioned helpful person provided.
