We currently use exim v3.34 and have tried the helo_verify but it rejects
mail from servers that put their domain name in the helo command rather than
their hostname. hotmail is an example.
They have valid reverse lookups for their hosts so 64.4.15.89 yeilds
f89.law10.hotmail.com but when the host connects it says helo hotmail.com.
Is there a way of setting exim to accept this so that provided the host that
connects is within the domain that it claims be from that is OK.
We are looking at version 4 but reading the docs for that suggets it also
does a whole string match. Looking at the code I guess it wouldn't be too
difficult to hack. Has anyone else done this already?
thanks
