i would in general recommend using the current version. unlike some pieces
of software (the mention of which would be off topic on an exim list), exim
generally makes forward progress.
the current version, which is indeed 4.10, works very well. it is a mark of
how well it works that there is no 4.11, 4.12, 4.13, etc.
