it is very much a first draft. i am particularly concerned about the tuning
parameters from the main configuration section; i inherited all that stuff
back during the exim 2.x period, and don't remember what it all does any
more. tomorrow, i'll go review the manual and remind myself, but for now,
beer followed by sleep is calling me.
