[Exim] Vacation command and message

Hello all,

I am trying to set up a vacation message using the .forward file. As
follows:

# Exim Filter
if personal then vacation endif

The .vacation.msg file is stored in the users home directory with the
following contents

From Friday 23rd August I shall be out of the office, I will be returning on
Wednesday 11th September.

This files is owned by the user.

When i watch the exim log file i get a message going in but nothing gets
sent out, as though it is ignoring the filter.

Can anybody help me please
