Try to telnet to netscape (or some other known mailserver outside of the
sympatico network) on port 25. I'm willing to bet that your provider (or
somewhere upstream) is filtering port 25/tcp, in which case you'll need
to configure exim to use a smart host (sympatico's mail server) to relay
your mail.
