Well, only really because the Eudora knowledgebase suggests Eudora behaves
differently with a 553 response.

I would be quite happy with just varying the text on a 550 response though.

Ah yes, that's true. But at least when they call their sysadmin or tech
support (me) I can make them read it to me, and tell them what they've done
wrong, without having to log in to the relevant server and start grepping
the log files. That's why I like highly expressive error messages.
