RedHat Linux Professional Server CDs include an Exim RPM. You can select it
during installation. The RH 7.1 distro had Exim 3.33 in it. I had to uninstall
Sendmail after the original installation, because RedHat includes Sendmail by
default, whether you want it or not. (I later upgraded to the Exim 4.x series.)
Since Exim is up to 4.10 now, and the 4.x series is superior to the 3.x series
(IMHO simpler to configure, among other things), my recommendation would be to use
whatever Linux distro you otherwise prefer, uninstall Sendmail (if present), then
download, compile and install Exim 4.10. It's much easier than I thought it would
be (it's the first thing I ever installed on Linux without an RPM package to hold
my hand).
