[Exim] NEWBIE: installation problems

Hi there



I have installed Exim 4.05 but when I try to test Exim ( as in the documentation ) I get an error.

The Exim users has been set to "exim". The user has been created with exim as initial group and mail as group

"root" user has been aliased to the "admin" user in aliases and newaliases has been executed



When I try this:



exim -v postmaster@???

From: user@???

To: postmaster@???

Subject: Testing Exim



This is a test message

^D



I get and error and the following lines are inserted in eximmaillog.

The mail group has rw rights to /var/mail



What have I done wrong ?
