thanks for your answer. Just voted my colleague who
reported this and gave me the logfile-outputs as hero-of-the-day.
Look at the date of the logfile. He sent me output that
is extremely old just because the logfile has not been
rotated properly :-/ ...
I am now investigating first, where and WHAT the
real problem is.

P.S.: Your diagnostics where quite right. In March when my colleague
set up this server there was indeed +s missing which I fixed in March.
I promise, this is indeed a colleague not just me feeling ashamed ;-)
