Hi there,
i am getting the following in our logfiles for exim , when a mail is being
delivered completely, some log entries have an asterix tagged after the IP
of the receiving host e.g.
This seems to occur when a mail couldn't be delivered immediately and had
to be re-tried , or where and email has been sitting on the queue for a
while without attempting to deliver, normally because of load issues, and
thus when it is delivered correctly for the first time, must have exceeded
a time which would normally necessitate being retried...IYSWIM...
does this argument make sense?? and does the * symbolise this??
many thanks in advance
Steve
