Here's a problem that I'm seeing as I test my new Exim server. This server
is acting as a relay from internal machines to outside mail recipients.
Mail from this server to all outside recipients works fine, except for
hotmail addresses. Yes, I've seen the conversations about hotmail servers
being unavailable, but I don't think that's the reason.
When I send mail from my Exim server at home to the hotmail address, it goes
through immediately. I've tested this several times this morning. However,
mail from the test Exim server to the same hotmail mailbox gets refused.
What about Hotmail would be refusing mail that most of the world accepts
just fine? Here are excerpts from the logs of both Exim servers. Note the
first one is the successful one (hoem Exim server) while the second two
attempt are from the new Exim server.
