I've previously built RPMs which I think have been taken as "official"
in that they are put on exim.org and RH also has based on those RPMs in
the past. However, as stated in the README information they are
basically built for my own use, and I haven't quite got to transitioning
anything to exim4 yet.

Personally I think you should just let them out, but do state any
assumptions used in building - one problem with exim is that you either
build for a specific subset of (lookup) functionality or build something
that needs every library under the sun (ie mysql, postgresql etc). When
I get to it I'll have SSL and all transports support in all binaries,
and then a basic, basic+perl basic+perl+mysql, basic+pgsql+perl. Since
the LDAP libraries are on all current RH systems I tend to build that
into the basic.
