Hi and thanks everyone for helping out.
It turned out exim wasn't listening at port 25
at all, as seen when trying to connect at port 25
with telnet, it answers "Sendmail".
Since I found that out, I have been trying to solve
it by applying the "symbolic link" to direct all incoming
sendmail calls to exim. I have failed...
Even though I have changed all occurences of "sendmail"
with a symbolic link to "exim-4.04-1", the telnet session still
answers "Sendmail". As of now I'm trying to get the "Sendmail"
back to one piece as I totalled it in the process. :-)
Any clues on how to link sendmail to exim on a Debian machine?
I can't use the "apt-get" option since I need to compile exim with
mySQL.
