[Exim] error when trying to start exim

Hi,

I've a new installation of exim, and am getting the following error when
trying to start it up:

2002-04-01 20:27:03 Exim configuration file /etc/exim.conf has the wrong
owner, group, or mode

I've checked the permissions/ownership of exim.conf:

-rw-r--r--   1 exim     mail       16744 Mar 13 14:17 /etc/exim/exim.conf

and the exim binary:

-rwsr-xr-x   1 root     other    2103512 Mar 13 14:17 /usr/local/exim/bin/exim

This configuration is working fine on another mail server I have running
the same version of exim (3.35 on Solaris 8).

Any ideas?
