[Exim] Exim and NFS

Hi all,

I have the following problem:

I have a mail server running Solaris 5.6 and Exim 3.34. On its local
disk is /var/mail. Some users have their home directories mounted on
the mail server from their local Sun workstation. If their workstation
is offline, then their mail cannot be delivered:

I want Exim to check for a .forward, however if it can't stat a
.forward, I still want the mail to be delivered to the users mbox in
/var/mail.

any help would be appreciated.
