The next thing to try, I guess, is this, without the mysql_servers line in
your configure file:
/usr/sbin/exim -bP|grep mysql
-bP lists all possible configuration options, whether they're set or not,
so if it's possible to set mysql_servers it will appear in that list.
Apart from that the only other thing I can suggest is that you have two Exim
binaries knocking about, perhaps?
The output of:
/usr/sbin/exim -bP|grep exim_path
might highlight that...?
