[Exim] mailscanner and exim

I worked on installing mailscanner into exim last night on my home
box, in preparation of using it later on a production box, and I'm not
having much luck :-(

I have set up to mail queues, two config files, added the extra
commands in the first config file of exim to get it to spool everything,
got all of the stuff mailscanner requires installed....

When I fire everything up, my exim paniclog shows this:

2002-02-12 09:43:43 exim user (uid=1002) is defined only at runtime;

1000 and gid 6 for local delivery to freymann: uid=1002 euid=1002

for freymann@??? from delivery subprocess

2002-02-12 09:43:43 16ae8G-000MHg-00 appendfile transport
process returned non-zero status 0 x0100: exit code 1

On this freebsd system, exim runs as exim:mail and I have the same in
the conf file for mailscanner.

Without including all of the data and config files, does anybody
recognize what stupid thing I did or didn't do?
