[Exim] accept() failure errors

at least once a minute I am getting the following error in mainlog on one
of our mail servers:

1 accept() failure: Software caused connection abort

I know that this isn't exim's problem because I also had the problem with
the smail installation I replaced on this server yesterday morning. Even
so, I was wondering if someone on the list has a better explanation for
what it means and possible ways to fix it.

Any help would be much appreciated.
