I thought of that, too, so I ran it under "strace" to see what it
did do and saw it load "/etc/exim.conf". However, doing it again
shows that I need to make an appointment with my eye doctor because
it's actually loading from "/etc/exim/exim.conf".
It appears the location of the config file moved in some recent version
and I never noticed. It continued to function as before because the
package moved the old file but my conf-file maintence program was not
updated.
Thanks for your help on this! I knew I had to be missing something
fairly obvious.
