Hello all,
I have a stand-alone dialup where incoming messages are
only delivered locally to myself. I receive all remote email sent
to me OK. I used to be able to send messages to myself to verify
that the mail system was working properly. No more. Now I get the
following error message:
**************************************
Date: Fri, 21 Dec 2001 06:16:52 -0500
From: Mail Delivery System <Mailer-Daemon@???>
Subject: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender
To: v@???
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software
(Exim).
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es)
failed:
vtorrico@???
unknown local-part "vtorrico" in domain "cfw.com"
****************************************
I've used "eximconfig" in every combination I can think of but still
get the above message. Have latest Debian exim installed.
Is there a cookbook file somewhere that I can get as a specific
example for a dialup /etc/exim/exim.conf file?
I'm going nuts trying to fix this.
BTW --- It should be obvious that I am a rank beginner and know
nothing about mail sytems.
My account name on the machine is /home/v or simply v.
I use the following two internet addresses:
My ISP address is vtorrico@???
My web address email is v@??? which is merely forwarded to
vtorrico@???
Warm regards,
Victor
