In the first setup, a director succeeds. The second behaviour either means
that the domain is not treated as local, or that none of the director
matches and therefore exim assumes the mail must be delivered remotely -
just to find out that DNS tells it to deliver it locally... you see?
You should run exim -d here to find out where the error comes from. Maybe
someone will take a look into your config and tell you what´s the matter.
