Are you sure your DNS server is not broken, and decided that in fact it was
going to return NXDOMAIN instead of any error.
Most mailer's I come across don't deal incorrectly with 4xx errors, but keep
trying after 5xx errors. They're spammers, of course, hence being told to go
away.
