The most likely thing is that the UID that you are running the Mailman
wrapper under is not the UID that it was compiled for. It would help
if you had log_output or return_output set on your pipe transport.

Alternatively, if its failing for another reason (ie broken list) then
look in the Mailman logs directory for enlightenment.
