Mario

I agree with Ben's reply, you can make your adsl-connected box the
mailserver, and other PCs can pick up their mail from the mailserver.

In my home network the mailserver runs exim, UW-IMAP and fetchmail (to
collect mail from the outside world). The other PCs run Outlook Express and
synchronize their local mailboxes with the mailserver (so every PC in the
household sees a complete and up to date set of messages).

The full details of my configuration are at
http://www2.vo.lu/homepages/allen/linux.htm. My setup may differ from what
you want in that we in the family all use one userid for email to and from
the outside world, and we don't (yet) email each other, but email between
other userids does seem to be delivered correctly.

This may seem a very elaborate setup for household use but it works very
well - 10-100 messages/day, 24/7 operation demanded under pain of serious
intra-family angst.....
