for the record, courier works with postgres as well. maybe the patch
didn't yet made it into the upstream (mrsam is not an easy guy to
cooperate with), but a patch exists and works fine.

if anyone interested, i'll try to have the guy who wrote and is
maintaining it to put it online someplace (sorry, i don't really want
to put his address to public without him agreeing first, and i don't
think i stand any chance waking him up at 03:30am :)
