This setup will cause problems with mails for e-mail addresses on
$NEW_MX that are locally generated on $OLD_MX because $OLD_MX won't
know about $NEW_MX and generate bounces for these unknown addresses.

What the original poster intends to do is a major endeavor even if
only exims are involved, using a bunch of directors and routers. I
have done this, but it's ugly.
