[Exim] Test run on SMTP Auth

Sorry, still on the same subject.
I tested SMTP auth by putting:

fixed_plain:
driver = plaintext
public_name = LOGIN
client_send = ^user^pass

Now it seems that we I send an email, although I don't get any error message from the server if I dont put the authentification information, the email is actually not sent. It is sent when I put the correct authentification information.

I have 2 questions:
- Why dont I get any error message from the server if i dont put the auth info?
- Will this system provides the ability to my email server not to be an open relay anymore?
