[Exim] 3.32 bad SMTP banner to Linux hosts, and EHLO 500 Unr…

Hello,

Exim 3.32 on Solaris 2.6 host seems to be responding to my Linux hosts
with:

[root@bertha etc]# telnet ims.corp.fortunecity.com 25
Trying 209.191.170.13...
Connected to ims.corp.fortunecity.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 ***************************************2**********0****200*********2**0*00
quit
221 ims.corp.fortunecity.com closing connection
Connection closed by foreign host.
[root@bertha etc]#

From other Solaris hosts, I get the regular banner.

# telnet ims.corp.fortunecity.com 25

Connected to ims.corp.fortunecity.com.

220 ims.corp.fortunecity.com ESMTP Exim 3.32 #1 Thu, 30 Aug 2001 13:32:04 -0400

I can think of plenty of reasons this might happen, but none that I figure
should be an issue at this stage of exim's development (aka stable).

Also, it does NOT understand EHLO's???? Thus we never get TLS sessions.

Exim is compiled with: openssl, tdb, berkeley db 3.3, openldap 2 w sasl
and tls/openssl, oh perl.o and pam.
