[Exim] route-file not working

I'm trying to use route-file to route certain email domains to certain email
servers, but it does not seem to work. I have my route.file as so:

*.sourceforge.net mail.relia.net byname
*.xmission.com: mail.relia.net byname

but when I send a message to a email on lists.sourceforge.net it sends it
diectly to source forge. This is not working. Any ideas?

BTW. Here's the route_file lines from my exim.conf file:
smart_host:
driver = domainlist
transport = remote_smtp
route_file = /etc/route.file
search_type = lsearch
