Big Thankyou to Phillip Phil & Phil,
I'd forgotten that pam could only access /etc/shadow as root, I had seen the
discussion on the debian thread and still didn't twig. I obviously had a bit
of a blonde moment (TIme to see a colourist!!!). Radius server currently
being built.. Although I think I may just write a deamon for my home server
as Phil Pennock suggested .
