I think I'm on record as saying that I hope to have a first-cut, alpha
release before the end of the year. This will numbered something like
3.951, and placed in the Testing directory of the ftp site. I envisage
that it will take 2 or 3 months of testing by the most adventurous of
the Exim user community (and several such releases) before we get to the
real release 4.00. Hence my "6/7 months". I don't want to raise too many
hopes too soon. The work is going well, but there is still a lot to do,
and there are some distractions looming up ahead, such as my Exim course
the the IETF meeting in London.
