What you are suggesting is not a "mail client" - this phrase denotes an MUA like M$ Outlook or Eudora or mutt or pine etc. I think what you are suggesting is:
Set up your present mailserver as a smart host (this should require little work).
Set up a local mailserver to receive mail for the new office and relay it via the leased line to the smarthost.]
Does this sound right?
