Isn't this what delay_after_cutoff (described in "Long-term failures")
is for? I'm sure I've run into this myself, but can't remember exactly
what one does about it. :-)

See FAQ Q0524, though. Perhaps you could schedule some periodic
exim_fixdb magic?
