no embedded perl in use or compiled in here. the servers are being used to
solely route mail between other exim servers and also to do a small amount
of alias expansion.

OK, I'll do that when I'm ready with 3.30. It shouldn't make any
difference, as there haven't been changes in that area.

I've just asked Jon Paxton (who has the same problem) whether he is
using embedded Perl. I would definitely like to know if removing
embedded Perl removes the problem, but I realize that running that test
may not be easy.
