[Exim] exim with long email names

I know that exim can be setup fairly easily to allow pseudo user name
recipients which are outside of the /etc/passwd file (haven't done it
as yet, but I know it's not too difficult).

Could someone point me to a popper which permits email retrieval
in the like fashion (outside of the /etc/passwd file)? This will only
be 20 - 40 names, a flat ASCII file would be simplest for me.
