i don't have the slightest idea how vmail-sql works, but using
mysql-driven aliasfiles is essentially the same as using flat files,
ie.:
driver = aliasfile
search_type = mysql
query = select newaddress from fwd where email =
'${quote_mysql:$local_part}@${quote_mysql:$domain}'
whereas:
INSERT INTO forward VALUES ('ice@???',':fail: 550 User unknown');
